Rule Set 7.5
I,Magi Kingdom of Thor Card Game.

iMagi: Kingdom of Thor — Official Rules (Rule Set 7.5)

By Sean Nathan Ricks

Game Overview:
iMagi: Kingdom of Thor is a fast-paced, turn-based card game for 2 to 7 players. The rules are simple, but gameplay is highly competitive. Players use strategy and timing to rebuild the shattered Kingdom of Thor. Trash talking is highly encouraged.

Objective:
Be the first player to complete a full set of all five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Each set earns one point. Play to 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 points. Standard competition is 3 points.

Deck Construction:
Each player uses a 72-card deck. Include 5–7 of each Basic Element and no more than 2 of each Advanced Element. All other cards are limited to 2 copies each. A recommended build is 6 of each Basic Element, 2 of each Advanced Element, 1 of each Element Spell, and up to 2 of all other cards.

Setup:
Shuffle your deck and have the player to your left cut it. Place your draw pile face down to your left. Draw five cards and review your hand. Set up your play area with zones for your draw pile, element fields (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit), discard pile, and banish pile if using a playmat.

Starting the Game:
The youngest player goes first, and play proceeds clockwise. On your first turn, you must play an Earth Element card (Basic, Advanced, or a card that searches for one). If you cannot, discard your hand, draw five new cards, and end your turn. This only needs to happen at beginning of game, not every turn.

Turn Structure:
On your turn, play as many cards in your hand as possible according to their rules. When finished, draw back up to a total of five cards.

Element Placement:
Only Basic and Advanced Element cards may be placed in the five element zones. All other cards, including Spells, Instants, and Interrupts, are played in the field of play and discarded after use unless stated otherwise.

Instants interrupts:
These cards may be played at any time when conditions are met and do not require waiting for your turn.

Scoring Points:
When you have one of each of the five elements in play, you score one point. Move one card from each element to your discard pile. Any extra cards in those elements remain in play and count toward your next set.

Draw and Discard Rules:
If your draw pile is empty, shuffle your discard pile to form a new draw pile at the end of your turn. When searching your draw pile, you may only take cards from it. If the desired card is in your discard pile, that portion of the action fails unless stated otherwise.

Banish Pile Rules:
Cards placed in the banish pile are removed from normal play and may not be reshuffled. Only cards that specifically state they can revive or resurrect from the banish pile may return those cards to play. Otherwise, banished cards remain out of the game.

Mulligan Rule:
If, at the beginning of the game, you draw three unplayable hands in a row, set your hand aside, search your draw pile for one Basic Earth card, play that earth card, and continue play.

General Rules:
All cards are discarded after use except Basic and Advanced Element cards, which remain in play. Each card performs one action unless otherwise stated. Only Basic and Advanced Element cards may be placed in element zones.

Final Notes:
All cards are tied to the iMagi novel series. Typos may occur in early prints of the card game, and may increase collectability. Players are encouraged to report errors and enjoy the game.
